When Bill married his wife, doctors warned them that they had a very small chance of having a child because Bill had a low sperm count. They were devastated by the news but they kept encouraging themselves and decided to stay together.

Bill really wanted to have a son who would have his last name and continue the family’s existence in the world. Every day, Bill would pray so he could have a son and that’s all he ever wanted.

After years of trying, Bill finally heard the good news from his wife. His wife is pregnant with his kid! Bill couldn’t be more excited. However, his excitement didn’t last long. After the ultrasound procedure, Bill found out his wife was having a daughter, not a son who he had hoped for.

Nine months later the baby was born and they named her Melissa. They went on and lived as a normal family but Melissa could tell her dad wanted a son. Bill also tried to be a good dad for Melissa even though deep inside he knew he wanted a son.

Years went by and Melissa, a young girl who recently graduated from her college, was visiting her parents in Virginia. She had to go out of the house to run some errands.

When she walked outside her family’s home to ask her dad if she could borrow his car, she got in utter shock to see that Bill was lying unconscious, his car was lying above him and he was pinned on his back beneath his car.

The car had fallen off the jack while he was working on it.

Melissa yelled to her mom from the top of her lungs to call 911.

She immediately ran to the car and thought to herself that she could lose his dad if she did not do something right now.

Unsure of what to do, she spontaneously stuck both hands under the wheel hub and pulled up with all her strength. She somehow got all the strength needed to save his father from this terrible situation. It was miraculous and unexplained.

To her surprise, she lifted the car just enough to pull his dad out of there. She then held it up with one arm and, with the other, pulled her father out from under the car by his pants leg.

Bill was not breathing at that time. Whatever little she knew about CPR, she started applying it to Bill. She started pushing his chest and blowing air into his mouth.

Bill showed some movement and hence, she continued doing it for some more minutes. Within seconds, Bill took a breath and opened his eyes.

For the first time, he knew he had been wrong the whole time. He felt like he didn’t love Melissa enough all these years. If it wasn’t because of her, he’d been dead by now, he thought.

“Dad! Stay with me,” Melissa whispered in her dad’s ears as they waited for the ambulance. “Just keep breathing.”
Doctors treated Bill for five fractured ribs, a fractured sternum, and fractured vertebrae, but doctors told Bill he could return to his home two months later. They were encouraging words to hear.

Whenever Melissa remembers that day, she always says that there is an instinctive feeling in all of us, which we usually call a gut feeling. The more we listen to it, the better it gets.

We all have a basic instinct to help the ones we love. In this case, her instinct to save her dad’s life really changed Bill to the core.

Now Bill loves her daughter more than anyone else and he feels blessed to have her in his life.

The End
